ECA Alum Recognized for Social Justice Work

In the grips of her trauma, Audrey Gerard rose from her sickbed determined to right an injustice born from personal experience: discrepancies in Michigan’s health care access. Her persistence garnered her the first annual Justice Warrior Award presented by the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit &Vicinity on Martin Luther King Junior Day. Gerard, 24, is originally from Ann Arbor and is an alumnus of the Early College Alliance at Eastern Michigan University (ECA@EMU) and Kalamazoo College.
