This Saturday the WIHI Public Policy/Grant Writing Enrichment went to U of M for "Public Policy Connects," which was basically an overview of Public Policy from graduate students at the Ford School of Public Policy at Michigan. WIHI students got an introduction to public policy and then took on the perspectives of either lobbyists, educators, or senators to prepare for a senate hearing about online learning in Michigan. (And they also got some college prep tips/advice at the end of the day.)
The U of M graduate students were incredibly impressed with WIHI. They told our sponsor over and over again how engaged WIHI kids were and how impressed they were by the presentation and oratory skills of WIHI students. A few even said that WIHI's presentations were basically just like presentations they'd made themselves or seen in their graduate level courses.
So basically, as we already knew, WIHI is awesome.
