Our illustrious Band, Orchestra, and Vocal Music teacher Brooke Pierson was recently awarded Honorable Mention for a Spookiest Music Competition conducted by ASCAP (THE American Society for Composers, Authors and Publishers).
This is just another indication of the caliber of teacher at WIHI.
You can listen to his music below.
The WIHI Percussion Ensemble will be performing another composition by the winner of the competition, Carlton Winston, at our upcoming concert, so stayed tuned for more information and don't miss hearing our WIHI musicians and our award-winning conductor.
Last week's Parent Conferences were a slightly new format for WIHI, allowing parents to sign up for 10-minute blocks of time with teachers. We think the system worked very smoothly; parents did not have to wait to speak to their teacher and teachers were able to better plan for the conferences in advance.
The teachers really enjoyed meeting all of the parents and were very heartened by the support and feedback given to us by the parents.
Do you have any comments or suggestions to make the conferences work better for you? Comment here and we will work to make sure the next round of conferences works even

This Wednesday and Thursday, October 24 & 25, WIHI will be hosting parent-teacher conferences.
This is a chance to all parents to sit down for a few minutes with teachers and discuss how their student is doing.
All conferences will be in the WIHI gym.
Spots are still available if you would like to set up a conference in advance, or simply attend our Open Conference time from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 25.

Hope to see you there.
