March 12th Update
Tonight at approx. 11:00 pm on March 12, 2020, Governor Whitmer announced that the presumptive number of positive cases of COVID-19 has increased from 2 to 12 across Michigan, and we expect more to come.
In an abundance of caution, Governor Whitmer is ordering the closure of all K-12 school buildings, public, private, and boarding, starting Monday, March 16 through Sunday, April 5. School buildings are scheduled to reopen on Monday, April 6.
Washtenaw ISD will continue working closely with the Washtenaw County Health Department as we plan for both school closures and the eventual re-opening of our schools.
Our number one priority is the safety of our students, families, staff and community, and we will send more information to guide our families and staff as soon as we are able. We are working as quickly and as thoughtfully as possible to assess and address the many complexities of supporting our entire school community.
Please continue sending your inquiries to Let's Talk so we can be sure to address all questions and concerns.
Truly to all our WISD family -- thank you for your continued understanding and patience.
