Thanks to the 50+ folks who were able to attend the WIHI FAFSA/Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, Dec. 3. FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Our presenter, Stephanie Petsch from the EMU Office of Financial Aid, provided thorough instructions and answers about the process of applying for financial aid. Her slide presentation is available at the EMU Financial Aid site. Find the "Financing Education Beyond High School" post for the link to the presentation.
REMEMBER: We encourage all WIHI families to complete the FAFSA online ASAP once it's available on Jan. 1, 2015. Do not wait for your W-2s or 2014 tax information to be finalized. Fill out the FAFSA on Jan. 1 using estimates for your family's income. At Financial Aid Night, we also reviewed some recommended websites to help you prepare for the financial aid and scholarship processes: fafsa4caster.ed.gov - official Federal Aid site to help families prepare for the FAFSA - available now! fafsa.gov - official Federal Aid site for completing and submitting the FAFSA fastweb.com - well-established and trustworthy search site for scholarships collegeboard.com - home of the CSS/PROFILE Financial Aid Application studentaid.ed.gov - official Federal Aid home page finaid.org - well-established and trustworthy information site Comments are closed.
